An Israeli air strike on a school building in Gaza City, sheltering displaced Palestinians, has killed dozens, according to Gaza’s Hamas-run civil defense agency. The agency, a rescue service, reported at least 90 fatalities and dozens of injuries, although the BBC cannot independently verify these figures.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) stated that the al-Taba’een school served as an active military facility for Hamas and Islamic Jihad, with approximately 20 militants operating there. Over the past few weeks, Israel has targeted several such shelters in Gaza.
The air strike in Gaza City’s Daraj district, which resulted in at least 90 deaths, was confirmed by the Hamas-run civil defense agency.
