British number one Katie Boulter was defeated in straight sets by Aryna Sabalenka in the third round of the Canadian Open. The second seed from Belarus secured a 6-3 6-3 victory in one hour and 23 minutes. Despite the loss, Boulter delivered an encouraging performance with the US Open approaching in two weeks.

The 28-year-old Boulter created four break points against the world number three in Toronto but was unable to convert any of them.
