California Senator Adam Schiff denounced looters who targeted homes evacuated due to the devastating wildfires, saying, “There’s a special place in hell” for such individuals. Joined by law enforcement, Schiff added that justice will be served: “There’ll be a special place in jail for you, too.” Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced the arrest of 10 individuals linked to fire-related crimes.
Nine were charged with residential burglaries in fire-stricken areas, while one person faces arson charges for allegedly attempting to ignite a tree in Azusa, located 20 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles. Authorities are committed to protecting vulnerable communities.
