Seven US troops were injured during a raid in Iraq on Thursday night that resulted in the deaths of 15 ISIS operatives, according to three defense officials. Among the injured, five personnel were wounded in the operation, with one needing evacuation for further treatment.

Two other troops sustained injuries from falls during the raid, with one evacuated out of the theater for additional care. All injured personnel are reported to be in stable condition.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that the 15 ISIS members killed in the operation were armed with various weapons, grenades, and explosive suicide belts. CENTCOM confirmed that there were no civilian casualties.

“This operation targeted ISIS leaders to disrupt and degrade ISIS’ ability to plan, organize, and conduct attacks against Iraqi civilians, as well as U.S. citizens, allies, and partners throughout the region and beyond,” CENTCOM said in a statement on Friday.
