This week highlighted the rising influence of Vice President Kamala Harris on the Democratic ticket, as numerous Senate candidates appeared at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Harris’ presence has seemingly bolstered the party’s image, with key Senate races being crucial in determining the majority in 2024.
Despite this, three of the most vulnerable senators opted to skip the convention. However, candidates from Michigan, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Maryland, and Texas attended, with many sharing the stage with Harris.
Harris has improved the Democratic standing in several states, including putting Nevada and Arizona back in play. Yet, the overall landscape of pivotal Senate races remains unchanged. Democrats had been outperforming the top of the ticket when President Joe Biden was the nominee, and this trend continues under Harris.
