Yet with nearly two-thirds of Canadians viewing the U.S. as “unfriendly,” some Americans are hesitant to visit. Still, many Canadians stress their grievances lie with politics—not people. From warm welcomes in Nanaimo to poutine at Toronto’s Grizzly Bar, the message remains: respect the culture, and you’ll be welcomed.
