Islamabad’s Capital Development Authority (CDA) is preparing to introduce an electric tram service, marking a major move toward sustainable public transport. CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa confirmed the initiation of a feasibility study following directives from national leadership. The study will explore routes including Rawat to Faisal Mosque and Jinnah Square to Islamabad Airport. A Chinese consulting firm is expected to assist. The project aims to complement the existing electric bus network and ensure efficient, eco-friendly travel across Islamabad. Despite past failed attempts, officials are committed to implementing the service.
