Despite rising US tariffs and a sharp drop in American orders, Chinese manufacturers remain defiant. At a Christmas tree factory in Zhejiang province, workers continue production for international markets despite uncertainty. Factory head Jessica Guo says that while initial reactions were pessimistic, the industry has since united with a renewed sense of purpose. The Chinese government has also responded with increased retaliatory tariffs, further escalating tensions. However, many factories in Zhejiang have already diversified their customer base beyond the US, focusing on Latin American and other emerging markets to reduce reliance on American buyers.
