Despite shared economic concerns and policy disagreements with former U.S. President Donald Trump, Japan, South Korea, and the European Union struggled to build a united front. Divergent national interests, trade priorities, and geopolitical strategies hindered cooperation. While all three faced pressure from Trump’s trade policies and America-first approach, their differing security dependencies, regional alliances, and internal political considerations made coordinated action difficult.
