Khin Mar Cho fears for her 4-year-old son as she struggles to find enough food in a makeshift displacement camp at a crowded monastery in western Myanmar.
Her family was forced to flee their village of Byine Phyu in Rakhine state after soldiers stormed the area, detaining men and killing her brother and other neighbors. Now, in the aftermath, she and others in the camp face severe food shortages, with Myanmar’s military junta accused of using hunger as a weapon by blocking vital food aid.
