A new international poll highlights stark differences in how countries view Donald Trump’s influence abroad. While many Canadians express a desire to challenge the former U.S. president, European nations increasingly favor engagement and cooperation. Conducted with London-based polling firm Public First, the survey questioned voting-age adults in Canada, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom about Trump’s global impact compared with their own leaders. Despite widespread criticism and controversy surrounding his return to power, Trump is widely seen as a dominant force on the world stage. In the United Kingdom, for instance, 54% of respondents said Trump’s election carried more global impact than that of Prime Minister Keir Starmer, underscoring Trump’s outsized international presence.
