NFL owners have voted not to ban the controversial “tush push” play, allowing teams—especially the Philadelphia Eagles—to continue using it in the upcoming season. The decision was made at the Spring League Meeting in Minnesota, where 10 teams opposed the ban, failing to reach the 24-vote threshold required. The play, which mimics a rugby scrum, has become a hallmark of the Eagles’ short-yardage success. Despite safety and competitiveness concerns raised by the Green Bay Packers and others, the league chose not to outlaw the maneuver. Retired Eagles center Jason Kelce even advocated for the play at the meeting. For now, the “Brotherly Shove” lives on.
