Pakistan and Russia will begin direct railway services on June 22, marking a milestone in bilateral trade and connectivity. Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi announced the move, emphasizing its role in strengthening economic ties. Russia is also considering investment in Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM), signaling renewed interest in the country’s industrial sector. Over 200 new carriages are under development, expected to enter service by 2027. The Ministry of Railways signed an MoU with PITB to provide free WiFi and digital services on trains. An eco-initiative with the Forest Department will plant fruit trees along tracks, promoting sustainability and green transport solutions across the nation.
