Tufts University PhD student Rumeysa Ozturk was seized by masked officers near her Massachusetts home while heading to an Iftar gathering. Federal agents handcuffed her, confiscated her phone, and transported her across multiple states without charges or legal representation. Despite a court order, she was flown over 1,500 miles to a detention facility in Louisiana. Ozturk, an international student from Turkey, is among those facing deportation under a Trump administration crackdown on pro-Palestinian activism. A judge has halted her deportation as her lawyers fight for her release.
