The United States has launched new retaliatory airstrikes against ISIS targets across Syria following a deadly ambush in Palmyra that killed two US soldiers and one American civilian interpreter. Conducted under Operation Hawkeye Strike, the large-scale military action involved US and coalition forces striking key Islamic State infrastructure and weapons sites.
