Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson made a surprise visit to Odesa, Ukraine, joining Lord Ashcroft and Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko in a morale-boosting event as President Volodymyr Zelensky warned the West not to trust Vladimir Putin. Johnson, a frequent visitor since Russia’s 2022 invasion, criticized Donald Trump’s praise of Putin while Russia continues its offensive. Meanwhile, NATO launched Operation Eastern Sentry after Russian drones entered Polish airspace, raising regional tensions. Poland has placed air defences on high alert, while Denmark, France, Germany, the UK, and others pledged support to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank against new Russian missile threats.
