Israel’s military conducted an airstrike on the UN-operated al-Jaouni school in central Gaza, resulting in the deaths of at least 18 people, including women and children. Witnesses described the scene as horrific, with reports stating that “women and children were blown to pieces” in the attack.

Among the victims were six UNRWA staff members, including the manager of the shelter. The United Nations agency reported that this incident marked the highest death toll for its staff in a single event during the 11-month conflict.
