Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that her administration is taking a measured approach to inviting US President Donald Trump for a state visit. Sheinbaum, speaking at a press briefing on Thursday, noted that extending such an invitation is standard practice but emphasized that there is no urgency. “We do not need to get ahead of ourselves,” she said, highlighting the importance of reviewing existing agreements and potential adjustments before making any decisions.
Mexico will decide on diplomatic exchanges after evaluating its agreements with the US, including whether to host US officials or send delegations to Washington.
