World No. 1 in men’s tennis, Jannik Sinner, addressed numerous questions during Friday’s US Open media availability regarding his avoidance of a doping suspension. Despite testing positive for a prohibited substance on two occasions in March, Sinner insists he hasn’t “done anything wrong.”
The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) disclosed on Tuesday that Sinner tested positive for Clostebol, an anabolic steroid, at low levels from a sample taken on March 10 during the Indian Wells tournament.
A subsequent sample collected eight days later also returned a low-level positive result. However, the ITIA determined that the Italian star bore “no fault or negligence” for the positive tests.
