Former President Donald Trump stated the United States had “nothing to do with the attack on Iran” in a post on Truth Social, cautioning Tehran against retaliation. He warned Iran that any aggression would be met with unmatched US military force. Trump also expressed optimism about brokering peace between Iran and Israel, calling for an end to the ongoing conflict. He revealed that earlier this spring, he had given Iran’s Supreme Leader 60 days to negotiate a nuclear deal and asked Israel to delay military action. Following Israeli strikes on Iran, Trump told CNN that the 60-day window had expired, indicating the warning had not been heeded.
