Iran has announced the use of its newly developed Haj Qassem guided ballistic missile in recent strikes on Israel, according to the FARS news agency. The missile, named after late Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani, was used during overnight attacks and is designed to evade advanced defense systems like the U.S. THAAD and Israel’s Patriot missiles. Unveiled in early May, the solid-fueled missile has a range of 1,200 kilometers and features a maneuverable warhead, making it capable of penetrating missile defenses. It is also equipped with an advanced navigation system and electronic warfare countermeasures, allowing precise targeting. Iranian officials claim it marks a significant leap in regional military capabilities.
