French President Emmanuel Macron has announced a new summit of Ukraine’s allied nations in response to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s call for the EU to maintain pressure on Russia. Speaking via video conference at a European Union summit, Zelensky emphasized that, despite Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statements about seeking peace, “nothing has changed.” Meanwhile, American President Donald Trump spoke separately with both leaders this week. However, these discussions have had no immediate impact. Despite an agreed-upon truce, Russia resumed its bombardment of Ukrainian energy infrastructure overnight from Wednesday to Thursday.
