In her first interview since becoming the Democratic presidential nominee, U.S. Vice-President Kamala Harris defended the shifts in her policy positions. She emphasized that while her policy stances have evolved, her core values remain unchanged.
“I think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed,” Harris stated.
Harris highlighted the Biden administration’s accomplishments, particularly the Inflation Reduction Act, which allocated hundreds of billions of dollars to renewable energy initiatives, including electric vehicle tax credits and rebate programs. “We have set goals for the United States of America, and by extension the globe, around when we should meet certain standards for reduction of greenhouse gas emissions,” she added.
